"Our club are so pleased to have secured the services of James as a course consultant to Theydon Bois Golf Club.
Due to unforeseen circumstances our head greenkeeper had an extended period away from work and this left a gap within our less experienced greens team. At short notice James met with our Chair of greens and after a course walk, James agreed to help. What transpired was testament to the sensitive approach adopted by James. He worked very closely with each member of the team, providing guidance, training, and offering up solutions. His substantial knowledge on irrigation helped us to save money by not employing outside contractors, whilst providing on the job training for our team. James is not afraid to do a hard day’s graft and with a man down, we kept the course to a very high standard.
When our head greenkeeper returned, we retained the services of James, and we now use him as a “Mentor”. This is paying huge dividends as our Head Greenkeeper can bounce ideas off James whilst James can offer a different way of doing things.
